Cartus Productions is a company built on the idea of one word: hero. What does it mean to be a hero? Who can be a hero? When should there be heroes? Where are heroes found? Why do heroes exist? Our mission is to answer, not only, these questions but to discover new insights to define the idea of what heroism can be. This is where our word comes into play: cartus. A word which aims to become something much greater than just a word. The same way we feel love, compassion, hate, and sorrow, cartus is the feeling someone has which overcomes them. Whether it defies our logic, our reasoning, even our very sense of self; cartus is the feeling within every hero which compels them to do what is right for the good of others, by any means necessary. Through our mission, we hope to instill an aspect of cartus within our audience and reach the hearts of those who, unknowingly or not, have this undefined compulsion within them, and define it.
NOUN:
The willingness to sacrifice one’s self (and/or livelihood) to miraculously save another’s life; foundational heroism; a way of life.
cartus (car-TUSS)
I am a hero for others.
I will stand up, speak out, and fight back for those who can not do so for themselves.
Every day, I perform my duty to help others by being a beacon of hope for those who are in need, and set my intentions towards justice for everyone.
As a hero, I find peace knowing those who encounter me are made better: by saving their mind, body, or spirit, granting a safe haven where there was none before, and teaching others to fuel the fire of their strength and heroism so they may never need me to save them again.
I will uphold these standards of a hero, or I will die doing so.
